Welcome to my website!
I have been painting since I was three years old when my mother, an artist herself, put a paintbrush in my hand and gave me a canvas to work on.
Primarily I work in oils, but occasionally in watercolor.
My subject matter ranges from magnified images of flowers and vegetable life that explore the complexity of natural forms to sweeping landscapes and portraits which exude a bold energy.
A graduate of Traphagen School of Design, New York, N.Y. I worked as an interior designer for Bloomingdales, New Jersey for ten and one half years. After moving to Southwest Florida in 1975 I worked at Robb and Stucky and Designers Showcase.
When I retired I became active in local art leagues, the Alliance of Art , Ft. Myers, Fl., Big Arts,Sanibel, Fl., Art for ACT Ft. Myers Fl. During these years my work was exhibited in many group and solo shows, winning numerous awards and notices. Some of my paintings are in the collections of prominent people such as Lily Tomlin, Russian Olympic Ice Dance Skaters, and local celebrities.
Since 2010 I have developed macular degeneration which has made me legally blind. I continue to paint changing my style from more detail to abstract or loosely rendered impressionistic. This has been both a challenge and freeing and fun to allow myself new expressions of creativity.
My work has been presented by Rick Moore Fine Art Gallery, Naples, Fl.,Sanibel Gallery, Sanibel, Fl.,Witt and Witt Gallery, Ft. Myers, Fl.,Images Gallery, Lakeland,Fl.,Wild Child Gallery, Matlacha, Fl., Seaweed Gallery, Sanibel, Fl.,Syzygy Gallery, Ft Myers, Fl., and Act Gallery, Ft. Myers, Fl
